I did this picture in a square format to bring out the curves of the

eye, the lashes, the eyebrow, the pupil...is it effective at bringing

out the curves by "framing" it?

What do you think of the image overall?

Very nice. Good placement of the eyelid curves. Wish the eyelashes were sharper, though. Is that a "window to the soul" kind of reflection?

The irony is, no, I didn't even want the reflection in the eye! But reflecting is what eyes do, so I decided to work with it.

I know...the DOF is sooo shallow that the eyelashes all the way to the left are so sharp and they fade out as the viewer looks to the right. Blah. :-(

Eyes are cool! :)

Great Shot,

I am a lover of the eye for portraits. A good eye equals a good portrait..,

Great framing aproach.

I would want to see the reflection a bit sharper, and sharper than the rest of the picture - producing a visual entrance point.

Cheers,

Ringo

I have a few more shots like this with stronger reflections...interesting idea, I'll have to see what I can do.

Yes, very 'eye-catching' Laura. The curve reminds me of a well known mathematical distribution (Gaussian aka Bell Curve) where a collection of random events sum to a symmetrical order. Mister Ken

I did a different approach using another one of the shots I took and applied a saturated red color to the eye slightly...what do you think?

it is overwhelming you...know what i mean..maybe you have to take more space...a little bit..

just an idea/my personal feelings.
