tjsolon 0 Posted September 5, 2000 Why in the world was this photo chosen to represent the 'photo of the week'- yikes... is there some sort of automatic choosing process that dictates what goes in as photo of the week?! Link to comment
justin_vudy 0 Posted September 5, 2000 I would hope for better from a site named "photo.net" Why was this photo picked? Is there something that I'm missing? Link to comment
don_maldon 0 Posted September 5, 2000 Every other image in the folder is better than this one...can anyone explain what I'm missing here? Link to comment
tony_moreno 0 Posted September 5, 2000 Personally, this photo does nothing for me. There are no qualities that intrest me about the person; the objects on the table clutter things up, as well as the not so inviting background. I think that the photographer was going for the hard lines on the tablecloth and back wall, but they are the only characters in a story that needs a better plot. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted September 5, 2000 his other photos are far better. i guess you need more than bots to choose photo of the week !!! Link to comment
evan zamir 0 Posted September 5, 2000 Is this someone famous? That might explain it. Otherwise, it's a pretty poor choice. Link to comment
banks_white 0 Posted September 5, 2000 At the risk of sounding redundant. Why was this picture chosen, to represent "photo of the week"? Link to comment
fredrik_renander 0 Posted September 5, 2000 I am sorry, but this looks like a mom taking her somewhat embarrassed sons picture. The other pics in the folders are better. I dont understand... Link to comment
brian_shaffer 0 Posted September 6, 2000 I think John uploaded the wrong photo and the number 70596 was confused with the REAL photo of the week. This photo has no reference to all his other photos. Link to comment
legaleus 0 Posted September 6, 2000 Please explain how pics of the week are choosen. Maybe then I can understand why this pic. Link to comment
gerard_gallagher 0 Posted September 6, 2000 The one good thing this picture does is make me really feel good about the ones I take myself which up until now I was feeling quite unsure about. Now if this was actually confirmed as a picture of an extra-terrestrial in disguise, it would really make it interesting! Link to comment
pat_morgan 0 Posted September 6, 2000 I think this probably means something special to the photographer and I think that is good photography. Link to comment
bonnie 0 Posted September 6, 2000 I think the juxtaposition of the lines on the table and of the shadow is interesting too. Also, maybe the point is that good photographs are what you make of it and that common, seemingly uninteresting but personal photos are good photos too.But since most comments have been, "Why in the world was this picked as Photo of the Week?", can whoever or whatever do the picking stop the suspense and tell us why? timothy_culp 0 Posted September 7, 2000 No point in wasting the quality of the Mamiya 6 on this type of snapshot. Link to comment
mkb 0 Posted September 7, 2000 OK, I second the emotion, stop the suspense and tell us why. I am not criticizing the photo or the moderators. I just want to see the mystery unraveled. Link to comment
bob_buckles 0 Posted September 7, 2000 Ansel Adams once said he hardest thing he had to learn about photography was when NOT to take a photo. This is one of those times. Link to comment
artshrink 0 Posted September 7, 2000 The lines on the tables are not shadows, but not so obvious at first. Link to comment
dustin_n. 0 Posted September 7, 2000 I just wanted to say this is a very bad photo, those shades do not suit her at all.. Link to comment
david_conner 0 Posted September 7, 2000 This was just a test to see if anyone was paying attention to comments on photo of the week. Thank you for your interest. Link to comment
