d2f 0 Posted November 2, 2004 nice candid snapshot, but the blown out background light and distracting lines going in and out of the heads of the two subjects in the rear kill the shot. tigher cropping on just the three in front might have saved this image, but as is the three in front are out of balance with the two in the rear. igsman 0 Posted November 2, 2004 I don't want to waste too much time analyzing your cockamamy comments, Don, but here. 3/3, huh? So far, your "in-depth" criticism deserves no more than 3/3. You seem to enjoy coming up with some wild ideas about people's photos, inventing assanine "stories" about bad breath (http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2074290), coming out of the closet (http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2830340), or whatever else might enter your acerbic mind. Give me some good criticism, man. What kills the shot here? Lines in the background? Through what? The bride & her father ARE the background. The focus of this image is the boy with the pillow. It's his story here. What is around and behind him are other happy smiling children and grown-ups, who provide a nice enough background in my opinion. They also don't see the boy's expression, which adds more dimentionality to the image. If your eyes are so distracted by the lines behind the bride, maybe you just don't get it. I can't help it.
