tad doxsee 0 Posted November 1, 2004 Another photo from Bear Creek. Is it OK? Thanks, Tad Link to comment
davea1 5 Posted November 1, 2004 A very nice composition. A challange using a rangefinder. Do you find it difficult to compose for the final composition using the rangefinder, and how much cropping do you have to do to get the final print? Link to comment
tad doxsee 0 Posted November 2, 2004 Dave, Thanks for your comments. This photo was not too difficult to compose with the rangefinder because I wasn't trying to capture a near/far relationship. Another photo (http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2557157) of mine was more difficult to get the framing right and took a little guess-work. Usually, I don't develop the print until several weeks after I take the photo, so I forget what I wanted to get in the frame and what I didn't. I often crop because I think it just looks better cropped. I'm not good enough to "pre-visualize" how I'll want to crop when I take the photo. Tad Link to comment
sjmurray 34,126 Posted November 2, 2004 Very nice shot! I'll bet it makes a lovely print. Maybe its my monitor, but I would bump up the contrast a bit. The overall tonal range seems a little flat. I think more contrast would bring out the rock textures better. Just a suggestion. Link to comment
AaronFalkenberg 0 Posted November 9, 2004 I don't think contrast would help, you would just end up blowing out the highlights more in the water. It's just mid range is very dominant in this image. You could burn the pine tree on the left. That said, I quite like the composition of this shot. Link to comment
