Knock-knocking on heavens door.

Some of the comments on this pic really made me smile. Sure, art appreciation is subjective and you can always disagree with the majority. But when you do, why imply that it's the majority that's wrong? 2 of the comments were really funny:

 

1) the guy complaining that the knocker is too centered. As far as I know, no country has ever thrown someone to jail for breaking the infamous law of the thirds, and the subject here is not even centered: the knuckles are lying more or less at an intersection of the Sacred Grid of Thirds.

 

2) this comment: "Inexperience or unwillingness to learn digital manipulation correctly also repetitively shows in the image as overprocessing" is intriguing. Maybe if you show us your original the 2 pics could be used in an article on the lethal effects of overprocessing.

 

Don't stop doing pics like that... some love them, some hate them so it must be art.

I personally think that all things produced, re-produced, re-recreated belong to the eye of the beholder. In their eyes we see a different perspective of the world. "Don't you think" What is right or wrong is irrelevant. I appreciate what people are trying to achieve and those who have achieved. I think that what has been done here is fine, (Am I a closet door knocker fan?) Mmmmm! I'll admit to taken quite a few in my visit to Tunisia it's a big feature there. Back to the subject, Great capture of the blacks, the wood colour you wanted everyone to see. This image for me is eye catching, It got me to look and admire it and after reading some of the comments; You?ve got to take the rough with the smooth. However try different variations on the theme a nice ruby red looks good to me :)

a mi tambien me gustaria ver el original de esta foto. Yo no veo nada "obvio" en cuanto a manipulacion... pero me dejas algo curioso por el colorido. La mano me dice "castilla-autentica" (Salamanca o algo por el estilo) pero el color de la puerta me dice Portugal o yo que se' que. Me acuerdo de muchas verdes y agunas rojizas pero este azul verdoso? El color es original? El encuadre...sinceremente me parece el unico posible. Supongo que podrias haber hecho algo mas "abstract"...desde abajo con un lente de gran angulo...llenando todo con los nudillos pero vamos. creo que el imagen funciona perfectamente como nos la presentas (si nada mas, has sacado un monton de conversacion :-)
