This was a (I think) fortunate accident that occurred while modifying

the image in the Gimp. It wasn't at all the effect I was trying to

get, but I think it ended up being quite a nice image.

I'd like to hear comments on how well the different components of the

image are combined - especially on how well the gateway fits in with

the forest - does it look convincing? If not, how could I make it

more convincing.

Thanks

Although I like the colours and the idea, it looks a bit too faked, especially the door. Also, I think the use of a more interesting / or a better background image would help.

I really like the blue stuff, what is it? Water? Smoke?

Thanks for the comments, Belinda. I wasn't sure about how effectivly the gateway blended with the background.

The blue streamy bits are from a picture of soap film - See my soap film folder for more of the images.

Liked this picture more once I read that you

discovered the image serendipitously. I agree with the other comment about a need for a more blended look with the immulsion amidst the trees.

I also would like to see this picture redone without any immulsion...leaving the portal-door

as the only unusual object in an otherwise all

natural setting you know...would blend with your magical concept that there is definitely something more to this tucked away spot amdist the trees. Btw, I've looked at all your pics..you have some really great shots..nice work.
