dwm1953 0 Posted October 28, 2004 You deserve a round of applause for this. By far the best shot of tonight's eclipse I've seen posted here. Link to comment

macgregor_anderson 0 Posted October 28, 2004 Excellent! I thought about trying a montage too but didn't have the skills or patience. Really well done. Also very sharp. Congrats. Link to comment
AaronFalkenberg 0 Posted October 28, 2004 Outstanding, but this could have been done just as easily in camera. Link to comment
vermilye 0 Posted October 28, 2004 I'll agree that it would be possible to do in camera - the black background makes it easier than most composites. It seemed far more practical to build it from single images since alignment in a 35mm viewfinder, although possible, would be tough. Another point - I posted this 10 minutes after the last image was taken - kinda tough to do that with film. I'm not down on film - most of the images on my web pages are film. It just seems to make sense to use the system that works best for the final image. Link to comment
AaronFalkenberg 0 Posted October 28, 2004 Yeah, I understand. I have an illuminated viewfinder with grid in my camera that makes it really easy. But I use slide film, so won't be able to post for a few days. Link to comment
jimg 0 Posted October 29, 2004 the one thing that is glaring in this photo is the misalignment alignment of some of the moons. It would seem moving from left to right the first half are properly aligned when looking at the craters and seas. The second half seems to be aligned differently than the first half. There appears to be a slight rotation. Other than that beautiful work. Link to comment
