tom t 0 Posted October 24, 2004 This is absolutly wonderful, nice colors, plenty stuff to draw the eye, and avoids the pitfall of your ordinary single pattern (which I always find kind of boring). Great catch. The square format works well too. And if it weren't for the title I probably would not have figured out what this is. The only gripe one might have is that ths shot is kond of busy. In this case, it does not bother me. And apart from that I really ahe no suggestions for improvement. Sorry! Good eye, PT! Tom Link to comment
sallymckay-lepage 0 Posted October 24, 2004 Clever PT. Somehow you have managed to capture the colours of the Carribean and the clouds from space. Nicely seen. However, I find the bottom right corner distracting; removing it would play up the abstract quality of the image. Sally Link to comment
dominiquedodge 0 Posted October 25, 2004 I love what you have done here and agree with Sally - the Caribean colours are super. Plus I see there terraced Balinese rice fields and glacial crevaces, so we really have an avian map of the world.More abstract would be even better IMO: get rid of the bottom right corner feathery bit and small whitish bits the junction of sea and terraces at top left edge. PS This is my favorite from the folder (with chesse grater). For those who aren't afraid of heights take a look at Yann Arthus-Bertrand's Earth from the Air photographs. Link to comment
pt2 0 Posted October 25, 2004 Well I fixed this & fixed it a second time... Ignore this image as I cannot change it on this comment... Link to comment
blago 0 Posted October 25, 2004 Beautiful crop, PT! Does sometimes nature play with PS when selecting colors for its creatures ? So strange and nice are these colors. Since I've nothing constructive to say I simply inverted the colors.Again a beautiful picture - a warmer cousin of the original. Well-seen ! Regards. Blago Link to comment
htc 0 Posted October 25, 2004 Excellent photo PT. I like the second version better, you removed the lower right corner. Not too much to say more. Link to comment
dave_nitsche 0 Posted October 25, 2004 Great image. Nothing much more to say. Either crop works for me... Link to comment
seven 0 Posted October 26, 2004 Superb natural patterns, well seen PT. I prefer the tighter crop, my eyes don't try to wander about as they do on the wider upload. Good colours, aesthetically rich & rewarding. Link to comment
wenger 0 Posted October 26, 2004 And I thought it was a parrot. Nice work PT. I agree that the tighter crop is a little nicer. Nicely done with the DOF for such a small area (though it's bigger than I thought at first with my parrot guess). Link to comment
pt2 0 Posted October 26, 2004 I know some great parrot jokes but this is not one of them. Link to comment
glabarca 0 Posted October 26, 2004 Not much to say, it is indeed clever, beautifull colors (Blagos colors are beautifull as well), very suggestive, technically well done. It is warm despite the cold tones, a very acomplished photo. I like best the cropped one. Link to comment
dominiquedodge 0 Posted October 30, 2004 Hey, I've seen that peacock before. Does he live near a castle, PT ? Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted November 1, 2006 The colors, patterns and overal composition are very appealing. I do know that i don't like the inverted warm color version. Congrats. Link to comment
