darrellwhittle 0 Posted October 23, 2004 Great themefit. Love the circular movement of the blades against the vertical solid strength of the background (?corrugated iron). Cannot work out the scale of this but it does not matter one jot. The framing is good although I long to see a tad more space around the blades (minor point). The movement blur looks 'in camera' and is just right IMO (however it is done). With such a bold pattern, crammed with so much dynamism, I would like to see some richer, more vibrant colours to complement the pattern. They just appear a little muted on my screen, particularly the reds (could be my screen however!). Very nice PT, my fave of the folder so far. Cheers Darrell Link to comment
blago 0 Posted October 25, 2004 Strong image, PT! Completely agree with the Darrell's comment here. However, I'd convert to B/Ws. Darrell noted the first reason (not very appealing color combination) and I see some black plate behind the lower part of the rotating wheel. Converting to B/Ws and increasing the contrast a little seems to solve these minor problems (at least for me :-)) Regards. Blago Link to comment
dave_nitsche 0 Posted October 25, 2004 Love the motion also like either version (mono or color) but if had to pick would go color but a tough choice. I think a full row of yellow splines would work better instead of the right area in shadow. It might add more balance to have the whole row yellow. Just a thought. Nice image. Link to comment
wenger 0 Posted October 26, 2004 We've had discussions in the past about how shooting for a theme possibly degrades the quality of our shots. I think if you look at this folder as a whole (as well as many PT folders) it would be tough to argue quality has suffered. This is a great. I'm a real sucker for black and white, and like that version also, but in the end I still ike the original better. The colors help explain what is going on. Of course if you want an abstract simply desaturating does so quite nicely. I do wish the yellow extended the entire grate. Regardless excellent PT! Link to comment
dominiquedodge 0 Posted October 30, 2004 Excellent job PT. I can't decide for colour or B&W, both have there attractions. I do hope we'll get some technical details on this. I'm totally in the dark on how this was achieved. I might have cropped slightly differently, a tiny bit lower at the top (into the rotation) and closer on the right. Other than that the white blob on bottom red is a pity, but if this has no PS work done on it I appreciate that PT wants to keep it that way. Link to comment
