bradkim 8 Posted October 22, 2004 It rained for three days in Los Angeles area. The first storm after long dry season.... Wind and rain washed away all the pollutions from the air. The night sky was crisp clean. This was the half moon I shot from my backyard. I'd like to go somewhere next week to shoot a beautiful full moon. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted October 22, 2004 Brad, it is an unusual clarity, it looks like taken with a Telescope....Well done. Pnina Link to comment
bentes_world 0 Posted October 22, 2004 Funny Brad that your moon looks this way .... very much like the moon I saw last night o: .... except mine were very orange ( unusual) Your's are very clear and sharp. I'm curious about which lens you did use for this one? Link to comment
bradkim 8 Posted October 22, 2004 Thank you Pnina for visiting this pic. This was a practice shot for my moon shooting trip next week... Yes, Bente... it is interesting that moon always looks a bit different depending on where and when you look at it. For this shot, I had coupled Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L lens with Canon EF 2X Extender, and shot with Canon 10D digital SLR which has 1.6 M effect. So when I set my lens at 200mm focal lengh, it was like shooting with 640mm lens on 35mm film SLR camera. I don't have a spot meter, so read the light with center-weighted measuring mode, and underexposed by two stops. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted October 23, 2004 Wow, great detail, Brad! You'll have to get into composite shots when you get a collection of these moons in various states. The possibilities are endless with such a great shot of the moon. Hope your full moon shots turn out as well. Link to comment
Tarkus 0 Posted October 23, 2004 Beautiful image. Next weeks full moon will enter completely into the Earth's shadow. Plan now for the last Total Eclipse visible in North America for the next several years. Link to comment

hugh_hill 0 Posted October 27, 2004 Beautiful and yet to me personally - a touch of sadness for here we have an abundance of life and peace evades us where-as upon the moon there is nothing but peace & calm. She looks down on us seeing a picture of colour & vitality thinking that here the grass must be really greener. (if only she knew!) While I was out tonight I looked at the full moon and thought of you, out there somewhere standing neck locked back staring up, pondering out across cosmic space at this magnificent spectacle that most take for granted - showing us that it is most often than not the simplest of things which brings us the most memorable pleasure. Peace is with you on this special night. Regards Link to comment
