you're colors are excellent, but the B&W of Gary seems to suit the image even more. When you add an extra layer and make it transparant, lets say round 30 % you can experiment with light in the toolbox in this layer in a subtle way. By making it more ore less transparant you can increase or decrease the effect. More effects can be applied in a more controlled way to such a layer. I do this only for 6 Colin. (six comments :-) I'll try to upload it to show.

Thanks Hans, the upload was useful as I use PS Elements which is a bit different to the full version. It looks possible so I will give it a try. Thanks again to you both for divulging your trade secrets so generously.

Hi Chris! - a) thanks - b) so was I! some intriguing ideas and some very useful tips on b&w conversion which I shall be having a go at.

No Colin, not trade secrets. We're saving them for when you show a PS converted image. Then we 'smart arses', then say "nice, but if you toned it and.......... it would be so much better!"

how about adding grain to such a layer. Or only selecting area's and transferring it to such a layer? Keep having fun, no secrets in my kitchen.
