Findhorn Flats

ian cameron

Findhorn mud flats at Findhorn, Moray, scotland are notoriously free of subject material you are totally dependant on composition and light. Here I opted to use a very pleasing sunset and complement it with the reflected blue sky in the pools of water textured by pebbles and wet sand. Most are going to dislike the curious silhouetted artefact, though I find it intriguing, I still don't know what it is. It's fixed and made of wood and well rotted down. The original Velvia slide has much more detail to extract the dmax of my Epson flatbed scanner has alas been exceeded. Please feel free to visit my website, Transient light, There are some superb new shots at Timecatcher too.

Wonderful light and textures have made up for definitive subject

matter at this notoriously difficult beach to photograph. Alas the

dmax of my flatbed scanner has been exceeded and the extra detail

held in my original Velvia slide has not been totally revealed. I

hope you enjoy it never-the-less.

Ian of course this is great...all your pics are, but i find it a bit on the high contrast end. Seems thats what it takes to hit the bigtime on TRP but seems to take the enjoyment value out. Only my opinion.
