Big Explosion

Don't worry, this was just part of a weapons demonstration at the air show. Nevertheless,

you could really feel the heat from this, even from 500 feet away. Your comments?

Nice shot --- but I'm distracted a bit by the object off the plane nose -- can't figure out what it is.. Should clone it out in PS. For me 6/6

I wish I could have been there. I love the color contrast of the clouds and the flames.

 

P.s. the thing off the nose of the plane is the right wing tip missile pylon. I would not clone it out; it would not be realistic without a wing.

Even though its, MCAS Miramar now, isn't it? Too bad the weather looked terrible this year, my favorite was always the nighttime show, with Fat Albert. Anyways, great angle and composition with the plane and explosion. Beautiful color in the fire too! Perfectly exposed!

Awesome shot. I like the texure of the flames against the texture of the clouds. That, and the difference in color makes a stark contrast-maybe hinting at the contrast between nature and the machinations of human invention...
