ivar olsen 0 Posted October 17, 2004 Hi folks! Taken this afternoon (apx. 18:25) in Wicklow montains here in Dublin. (just down from Johnnie Fox pub). Best viewed large. Wasn't too sure about the colors...but kind of like the harsh green... anyhow... Thanks for taking time folks! ;-)) Ivar Link to comment
AaronFalkenberg 0 Posted October 17, 2004 Nice shot. I like the greens, and the way the water has almost completely smoothed out. I might have used a polarizer to cut some of the reflections on the water, though. That one highlight on the upper right is a bit distracting, too. Link to comment
allonkira 0 Posted October 17, 2004 Hi Ivar, first of all - thank you man! Now, this is a wonderful shot! I like the silvery color of the water and the excellent details you got. also, a very good exposure. what filter did you use in this one? Cheers, allon. Link to comment
willy.marthinussen 0 Posted October 17, 2004 Hi Ivar..very good this one..i dont know how you can get this sharpness...very good.. --willy-- Link to comment
ivar olsen 0 Posted October 17, 2004 Hi folks! I LOVE to see how different we feel about the same subject! ;-) I actually took off the pola-filter before shooting this one. It's no filter on at all. Some years back I shot a water shot by chance back home in Norway. I meassured in the shadows, thus the water was at LEAST 2 steps overexposed. The result was the "silver" . I have kinda stuck to it ever since... :-)) Aaron: I'm tempted to test with a polarizer to see the result. Also a huge thanks to you for making the effort to comment on my pictures! ;-) See you around ! Ivar :-) Link to comment
lgreene 0 Posted October 18, 2004 Ivar, thank you for your comment and I see what you mean by similar scenery. It is very green here in North Carolina also. I like how the water looks like liquid mercury,it matches the shine on the blades of grass. Very nice. Link to comment
nichols 0 Posted October 18, 2004 This is fantastic, Ivar! Great rich greens and great exposure! Beautifully framed as well! I like this one a lot! Well done. Link to comment
j_w13 0 Posted October 18, 2004 I think it is amazing that I see no movement in the grass blades considering how long the exposure must have been. Must have absolutely no breeze. Very tricky! Link to comment
ivar olsen 0 Posted October 18, 2004 You put the finger right on the spot! No breeze at all! -Which...might I add... is "slightly" unusual to say the least here in Dublin/Ireland! ;-) The exposure time wasn't that long. I didn't have my remote switch with me...and since no multiple exposure is available... I was limited to 30 sec. See ya! Ivar :-) Link to comment
donnaalbers 0 Posted October 18, 2004 Ivar, I like the contrast in texture of the silkiness of the water and the roughness of the grass and the contrast in color of the rich greens with the metallic silver. Very nice image. Link to comment
shawn_hooper 0 Posted October 18, 2004 Great shot! Makes me wish I had better weather when I was there. Great country for shooting in any weather though, right? Link to comment

aivarmikko 0 Posted October 22, 2004 When I had a look at this one I immidiately remebered Your metallic leaves. This is also close to it -element here is silver. So what it looks like for me. It attracts and looks good. 7/6. Link to comment
ivar olsen 0 Posted October 25, 2004 I really would like to go back to the excat place when it's completely dark. Would be interesting to see what the result then would be... :-)) Thank you for taking time to comment ad rate folks! :-) Ivar Link to comment
