abkime 0 Posted October 17, 2004 The usual view of this lake is loking in the opposite direction towards Snowdon. Whilst least dramatic, this view has its own qualities. Would like feedback on composition / exposure, (is it too dark?). Link to comment

zlm 0 Posted October 18, 2004 Absolutely fabulous, such a beautiful, moody shot. Exudes peacefulness, great shot. Link to comment
vlad po... 1 Posted October 18, 2004 Well-composed, nice photo. You've reached the top of the G3 resolution power. You may lighten the fg a tad more (polarizer effect or slight vignetting by adapter?), but IMO it's just optional, on my monitor it looks OK. I'm curious if wide angle adapter maintains the same resolution as prime. A good job. Link to comment
louis1 0 Posted October 18, 2004 Near perfect. I would go for a square crop. Well done, great shot. Louis Link to comment
awaraagard 0 Posted October 18, 2004 beautiful & stunning. luv the light & color. if this is what u get with G3...what else is canon selling out? Link to comment
abkime 0 Posted October 18, 2004 Thankyou for the comments & feedback, it is much appreciated. Vlad, the resolution remains at 4MP the adaptor simply is a 0.7x attachment for the front of the lens which then equates to a 24.5-94.5mm, (35mm equivalent). Thanks again Andy Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted October 18, 2004 Great tones and colors, not too dark for my taste. I like the raising mist, nearly perfect composition (I think about a 5-10% crop at the bottom, not sure). Regards, Carsten Link to comment
robporter 0 Posted October 18, 2004 Love it, you must be very pleased. Out of interest, how much post capture work did you have to do with it? Link to comment
abkime 0 Posted October 19, 2004 Robert, yes I do like this. In terms of post production, the bottom is lightened a little already, (anymore and it looked false,I also tried to lighten the shadow of the foreground rock without success), the bottom was then cropped, and the image sharpened. Thanks Andy Link to comment
mg 0 Posted October 19, 2004 I like it very much, great light mostly, and very good composition. What bothers me a little is... colors... I think I way like this even more in selenium-toned BW personally. Then comes a question: are the colors natural...? Finally, I wonder whether a perfectly squared composition wouldn't have been even better, as it would match the feeling of peace I get from this image. Nevertheless, and since I have no idea what was left and right, I can't be sure that a square would work. Regards. Link to comment
abkime 0 Posted October 19, 2004 Marc, thanks for the comments. I have not tried it in any other colours other than the natural, (well, warm up filter) that you see. As for the square crop, yes I can see that working, although I cannot add to the width as it was taken in portrait. Thanks again, Andy Link to comment
