galahad 0 Posted November 9, 2004 Truly a masterpiece. Creates an interesting feeling of depth. Where was this picture taken? Will most likely cause a revolution in photography, with hordes of cheap imitations developed and published daily. Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted November 30, 2004 Nice! I want the finder that let you see what you were doing for the main shot. The stuff in the background is thoroughly disorienting and very atmospheric. Link to comment
vladvlaz 0 Posted December 6, 2004 Finder? Just point and shoot. The image on the floor is some ad, I think for the film Along came Pollie? Something like that... Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted December 7, 2004 Understood about the finder. [long digression re: text as inadequate vehicle for irony deleted] The camera is, after all, visible in the shot. You have the "finder" in your head, where the idea for this image appeared, as if on ground glass, and I applaud your creativity. Link to comment
vladvlaz 0 Posted December 7, 2004 The time of my comment may be indicated as 1:10 PM, but where I am it was in fact much later, and the number of beers tipped is also not shown for some reason. At the same time would like to point out in my defence that I only recently got into photography and the idea of changing finders still seems pretty exotic (which made me dismiss the comment as technical question in my haste when I read it the first time). Fine, it was "DP-P & S without looking" finder. I would really recommend you to try that, you get 1:1 magnification and more than full frame coverage! Plus EXTRA high eye point. I am afraid only available with Nikon though... Lucky you, you use Nikon as well! Ok, now I can appreciate your sarcasm :) Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted December 8, 2004 "...and the number of beers tipped is also not shown for some reason..."I suspect the PN gurus would oppose any implementation of an "Aleometer" for two excellent reasons: 1) We all feel you have a right to certain, uh, trade secrets, and 2) Canon vs. Nikon & digital vs. film are bad enough; we don't need Guinness vs. amber, with occasional comments from "I still drink pilsner like me dad" folks. Still love the shot. Link to comment
