jmcconnell2 0 Posted January 8, 2005 Excellent composition, outstanding focus and depth-of-field, great detail, 7/7. My brother just got a D70 with the 18-70mm lens for Christmas. Which other lenses and accessories would you suggest? Thanks in advance, Jim Link to comment
johannes_eriksson 0 Posted January 8, 2005 Thanks for commenting on my photos. I'd recommend getting a good, bright telezoom like 70-200 2.8 from either Nikon or Sigma and possibly teleconverters. A lot of people buy the cheap 70-300 zoom as their second lens, and while it may be OK in bright daylight it is not useful in lower light conditions such as in the evening or indoors. The photographer's needs ultimately decide which lenses he should obtain. I also look at a lens as an investment: good 2.8 telezooms are always in demand and can be sold later, while a 70-300 is more of a "consumer" lens with little resale value. The AF-Nikkor 50mm 1.8 is also worth getting, since it is light, very sharp and dirt cheap to boot. Link to comment
