Green insect

paulfisher

I estimate the bug was about 4 or 5mm long and jumping around like mad. Used small aperture and on-camera flash to get decent DOF.

I don't know what this little fellow is called, but he was tiny and

wouldn't keep still. The irridescence of his body and wings attracted

me. 100mm macro lens with 1:1 diopter, and on-camera flash used at

f22 to try & achieve some DOF.

I am a fan of insect photography, and this image is very respectable! I've attempted to photograph a similar type of insect myself, but never succeeded. I'm surprised you got such a sharp image. The entire insect is in relatively good focus, especially for 1:1. Keep up the good work! I'll be checking out your other images now.

Thanks for the kind words, Catherine. I've just checked out your portfolio, and I'm blown away! The house fly is just incredible. But watch the converging verticals when shooting pine trees! :-)
