gaetanchevalier 5 Posted October 16, 2004 Yes southern Quebec is a Maple Tree heaven. During my trip on October 10th, at my surprise, there were regions that the maximum coloration was over. But in Beauce, this photo show that the coloration was as it's best. It is not always easy to shot autumn coloration. Some years you can have rainy and strong windy weather that will not permit to get the best colors show. Link to comment
Link to comment
gaetanchevalier 5 Posted October 16, 2004 Thank you for your nice comment. More and more foreign visitors come to Quebec city during this time of the year. For example, the Queen Mary 2 boat visit us this year for the autumnal coloration. It is scheduled to come back next year during the peak period of coloration. Also, there is an increase in foreign visitors during our winter season. Personnaly I do like more winter period because it offers nice possibility of taking photos. Link to comment
gaetanchevalier 5 Posted October 16, 2004 Thank you, you have an interesting comment. You said : 'Bright sun would have possibly made this scene harsh'. I would IMHO, say that a bright sun here in Quebec city would not have made this scene harsh because our city is at 46 degrees latitude north and the sun at noon during this time of the year is quite low. The colors are more beautiful with the sun light. But a cloudy sky did offer other possibilities that a sunny sky will not permit. Link to comment
gaetanchevalier 5 Posted October 16, 2004 Yes Canon PowerShot G2 have a great 1/1.8" (0.556")sensor for a 4.0 megapixels digital camera. I had a Nikon Coolpix 950 that had the same size sensor for 2.0 megapixels. I have sold this camera and sometimes I would like to have it again with is nice LCS screen of 2 inches that was great for macro photo. Today manufacturer of camera offer a lot of pixels but whit smaller sensors...(possibility of more noise). Thank you Carsten for commenting my photo. Link to comment

raywei 0 Posted October 17, 2004 During this season, red leaves travel down from North to South, but even when they get here in Virginia, I am afraid that I just can't make anything this beautiful. I admire this shot. :D Link to comment
