Hi Mark. I liked your picture a lot, but as you said something needs to be done with the blown out sky. I hope you dont mind, I couldnt help try out my vision for the picture. I cropped the white sky away (it was detracting from the image), added new frames, I thought yours was a bit too much, and I increased the levels slightly. What are your thoughts about the changes? There is no right or wrong of course, only variations in taste:)

I agree with Kjaratan ,that the sky looks better cropped out of the picture. With the sky not distracting it , its a delightful picture.

I really appreciate your taking the time on this one. For me, it was a question of choosing between the blown out sky and the full left hand tree and even with your example, I'm still not sure which!! Thank you for the comments on the frame too, I'll tone it down in future

Kjartan, Having just seen your profile, I thought you may be interested to know that the picture was taken in Lier, near Drammen.

Ah. What a coincidence huh? I've been to Lier and Drammen many times, there are some beautiful places there, I missed this great scene tho.

very nice shot! cropped one better, but I didn't like neither of the frames :)

Though this is a gorgeous photograph, I was thinking it needed to be cropped either tighter or larger. Larger would have been though because of the sky and as I scrolled down to leave a comment I saw exactly what I was thinking. The softness is wonderful, the colors crisp and true, and the subject very pleasing. All in all, a great shot.

Lisa,

The cropped version is so much better isn't it.

This was one of my very first shots that wasn't taken during my lunch hour of a bunch of semi-rabid sea-gulls. I loved the tree on the left so much that I couldn't bear to cut the top off, guess that's my inexperience. Kjartan, came along and just chopped the top of my tree off, without a second thought and made a much better image of it.

Thank you once again for dropping by.
