Night Church

70 min exposure at f-4 with a Nikkor 28-135mm lens... the moon was out and very bright, resulting in the "daylight" look of the church... I thought it made a nice image overall though...

Next time I'll use a smaller aperture... and hope for a clear night

with no moon soon... the bright moon that night and a 70 min

exposure resulted in the church looking like a "daytime" shot...

still... I thought it made a pleasing composition...

Mike your doing fine. Just wait until it's REALLY dark. Also if your photographing something of light color , like the church, it will not only absorb light but also radiate it. So it will help to just show a portion of it in a corner when composing your picture, But a weathered building would give a better contast. I use either Fuji Velvia or Konica Impressa ASA 50 film, both will give you excellent results in capturing the night. Welcome to the wacky world af astrophograhy. Gary

I love the fact the church is so bright. It makes me study the picture closely to try to figure out what is going on. A great effect, wether by accident or design.
