steven_b. 0 Posted October 6, 2004 Hey, this is my first submission here, but don't hold back on me. Keep in mind though, the colors and contrast are accurate to the print, but the scanning added a certain amount of both grain and other related artifacts. If you have any tips to avoiding this, please feel free to share. Thank you for the critique! P.S. Yes I know she has an arm coming out of her head :P Link to comment
ghobii 0 Posted October 7, 2004 I always scan at least twice the resolution that I plan to use the photo at. That way you can apply any noise or grain removal, or do some sharpening. Then when you reduce the size you get a cleaner image. I really liked this photo BTW. There are so many subtle unexpected things going on(not to mention the arm) it makes for a complex picture out of what at first seems kinda straight forward. Nice. Link to comment

angel_pena 0 Posted December 23, 2004 Why do you want to avoid grain and artifacts? Composition, story telling, humor, feelings... there's a lot more than technical perfection in photography... well that's what I preach on this site... I think your portrait works, there's a glimpse of her personality. And a distracting arm. Link to comment
dimitris 0 Posted December 23, 2004 Very nice capture of the girl's face and hands! I just don't like the car and the arm in the background. Link to comment
