could've added the whole body of the ship not just the masy...

I like this kind of images, see for instance

this photo, and you nicely got the impressionistic feeling to it.

I think that, as you have chosen to concentrate on the masts, it might be appropriate to crop some of the bottom of the picture where other structures of the ship appear. These might be responsible for the unconscious desire to see more of it.
