fmueller 84 Posted September 4, 2001 Any comments or suggestions are much appreciated. Also, if anybody knows what sort of tree this is I'd be most grateful to hear about it :-) Thanks for looking! Frank Link to comment
mark griffin 0 Posted September 4, 2001 I live in Perth, WA and if it's any help I have heard them called flame trees - although that doen't sound very botanical! Mark Link to comment
fmueller 84 Posted September 6, 2001 Many thanks, this was sufficient info to do a search on the Internet. It turns out to be a Brachychiton acerifolium, which was almost more than I wanted to know ;-) More importantly, it made made me change the titel of the photo! Link to comment
ecarter 0 Posted March 8, 2005 I haven't ever seen trees like this - even with fall foliage, the deep red of the leaves is very striking. Well seen, better composed. Link to comment
fmueller 84 Posted March 14, 2005 Eric - many thanks for your comment. As it happens, I am currently in San Diego, and yesterday I saw these trees in bloom right here in front of the convention centre! Link to comment
