This is two images, a greyscale close up of the side of a barn and a

landscape that I took a few weeks ago. I was going for an effect where

it looks like the photo was painted onto the wood. There are two other

manipulations done using similar techniques in my folder called

Manipulations. Feel free to rate/comment any of them.

Wow it looks JUST like a painting on a barn. I like the other two but this one is my favourite. Could you explain how you did this? Or point me in the right direction? Anyways great pic.

Actually, it's pretty simple. You should be able to do it in any graphics app, I use Paint Shop Pro. You need two images, one a texture and one a regular photo. If they're not the same size, crop so they are. Start with the texture, make it greyscale, I use Channel Mixer for this as I have quite a few custom B&W presets. Copy the photo and paste as a new layer over the texture. Fool with the blend modes on this layer until it looks pretty good. I think this one was Hard Light, try other though. Fool around with the opacity and adjust contrast, saturation or whatever until it's the way you want. The biggest "trick" to doing it is find a good texture and photo pair.

Wow... I expected higher ratings than that. I think it's excellent. You should be very proud of this one.
