david bohn 0 Posted October 2, 2004 I know that hes right in the center but i liked the seat on the right (shows how little Jim in) and I wanted to keep in the broom head in the top. What would improve this photo? Thanks Link to comment
samscholes 0 Posted October 2, 2004 Compared to other portraits this stands out to me because it does something different. The surroundings aren't out of the ordinary but they are nonetheless something different then you see in other portraits. The angle you shot the photograph from presents the scene and your subject in a refreshing way. Finally, your subject is posed naturally and has a good expression on his face. I don't mind that he is centered in the frame and actually didn't notice until I read your comment. My only ideas about how this photograph could have been better would have been to include all of his hands in the frame and to provide some more lighting at the left. Otherwise, well done. webfeet 0 Posted October 5, 2004 He is in the middle of the shot, however, because the left side of the shot is so dark it seem, to me anyway, to pull him off center. I like how you tried to show how small he is. I'm not sure why you wanted to include the broom?? Doesn't seem to add anything to the photo. I would have also included his hands. Other then that good shot! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 17, 2005 The centering works well, I think, because of the angle, the diagonal presentation. The reason I can see for keeping the broom is that it keeps that corner from being too dark, the light coloring of it creates balance. Beautiful photo. Link to comment
david bohn 0 Posted January 17, 2005 Thanks for the critique please feel free to critique any of my work...not just "the good stuff", I really crave any kind of feedback, I fancy myself a pretty good commercial type photographer but I still have a lot to learn about other areas of photography. Guest Guest Posted January 21, 2005 Thanks for the invitation; I often don't feel like I have a whole lot to say. =) I love your photos, but I have zero experience with commercial photography, or even with any kind of studio work, so I feel completely unqualified to comment on much of your work. I keep coming back to it, though, because it's so nice to look at. Link to comment
