Looks like a fly reel, but its not. Its a Canadian style centerpin reel and this particular model is an Islander ($300+ US). Its not mine, but belonged to the fellow I was fishing with. We were at Rivers Inlet, B.C., fishing for Chinook salmon. BTW - this particular reel was loaded with 6 pound test line and a week after this photo was taken its owner caught a line class world record Chinook with this very set-up. I believe it weighed in at just over 51 pounds. Check it out at www.halibut.net

I am familiar with Islander reels but only their flyrod stuff. I mostly fish for Bones, Tarpon, and Permit though.
