c brake 0 Posted September 28, 2004 This is really an eye catcher! Fantastic use of light, very nice clarity. It gives the feeling that something alluring is hidden behind the petals. I love the circles of confusion. Very nice indeed! Link to comment
miranda_wooster_tierney 0 Posted September 29, 2004 I am particularly attracted to this photograph because it makes beautiful use of grey hues. It is difficult to achieve a good photograph with a lot of grey tones in it, because grey often dulls an image and extracts texture from it. For this photo, however, that is not the case at all. The image has tremendous texture in it, and the use of light is beautifully balanced throughout. There is a feeling of many flowers, although there is a focus on only two of them. Overall, a very well composed and executed photograph. Nice work! -Miranda Link to comment
tmeyer 0 Posted September 29, 2004 I really love the composition! Something about the upper flower holding up the frame really makes this interesting for me. Well done! Link to comment
timbavati 0 Posted September 30, 2004 Up untill now I firmly believed, flowers cannot be portrait in monochrome. Congratulations, this is a great shot. Link to comment

fred_magness 0 Posted October 27, 2004 Philip, this is a great photograph. The composition is exquisite. It has a full tonal range and I really love the soft midtone grays. Outstanding! Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted October 30, 2004 Sometimes B&W works well with things you normally expect to see in color. I sometimes do that with my brightly colored birds. I find the postings usually get varying ratings, though - some people like unconventional and others don't. Link to comment
