Re: C'mon people, I wanna learn something here. Nice snapshot but I am looking for good pictures. The art I mean

-- Daniel Urban.

I think there is a very important lesson to be learnt by this shot, HAVE FUN !!!

Re: the blue issue; I think it is alright because the bug looks like a shark and reminds me of Jaws.

My suggestion; slow down the shutter speed and flail the limbs a bit to add some motion. A bit of struggle motion would make it seem more animate and therefore even more funny (IMHO).

A different location might help too. I would suggest a location with lots of pedestrians, like downtown. Even if they look strangely at you it will only add to the atmosphere.

These are just suggestion, I really like the picture and especially the thought behind it. I encourage you to take it to a higher level. What about two or three people hanging out in all different ways in the middle of a busy market square? I see real potential here. Keep it up!

As for the photo, something's not quite right. The shoe flying is obviously meant to imply action, but the stiff & symmetrical position of the limbs looks very static and posed. I think you need to make up your mind and go one way or the other with it.

This is a remarkable shot of a traffic accident, does anybody know if the victim survived?

A wonderful album cover, for the 'Beatles'.

It's interesting to read the comments on POW each week. Lots of discontent. Some people will get all jammed up no matter what. SIMMA DOWN NAH !

I liked the photo. Fun, whimsical and central, shmentral, I think the composition is just fine. Ditto with the fact that it's contrived. So what? Isn't every model shoot contrived? But, most important, if an image is at least partly judged by the variety and intensity of what it evokes from the viewer, I think this shot is VERY successful as evidenced by the volume and passion of comments. Well done.

This is an excellent shot. Photography is also for fun, hence your photo deserves POW award. People may think it was staged. Yes, it was staged apparently, but who will stage a picture in a small road like that. For me, I think he took it in a quick response of his idea. It means, originality would be 10. No question for that.

It was asked above about a recommendation for another location. My first thought is to pick a scene that has no sign of a roadway in the frame. This does look a little hastily staged and that you simply pulled over and popped the hood and jumped in.

If you trying to convey the sense that the car is alive, then I would think try something showing the car has gone out of its way to hunt down its meal, i.e. left the roadway.....perhaps beside some table and chairs, with a couple chairs knocked over indicating some sort of struggle.

I would also suggest a polarizer to remove the glare from the windshield and hood, and maybe a stop or two lower for better colour saturation.

Very inspiring for amateurs like myself to see a photo declared POW for pure content. Not a masterpiece from a technical perspective but there is plenty here to enjoy. Keep up the good work, Haluk! And, my hat is off to the staff of Photo.Net for this choice.
