dmozzherin 0 Posted September 27, 2004 When I looked at small version I thought that the grass is water. It adds more to the name of the photo:) Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted September 27, 2004 I was at first confused by the smudginess of the clouds then saw the the exposure time. For me it the clouds imply a movemnt that the desert scene in it's quietness dosn't convey. I like the photo but am curious as to why you chose the exposure time? Thanks~md Link to comment
shileshjani 0 Posted September 27, 2004 Michael, I have a fascination for late (or early) day long exposures with moving clouds. I only wish I would remember to use the 6 stop ND filter more frequently. You need a fairly narrow light range to do this kind of work. For instance my index exposure was 4 sec at f22, which becomes approximately 4 minutes with the 6 stop filter. However, the light was getting dimmer during the exposure, so I had to open the aperture to f16 after 1 minute and f11 after another minute. I have a regular exposure of f11, 1/4 sec. But I have not scanned it yet. Shilesh Link to comment
shileshjani 0 Posted September 27, 2004 Dmitry, There is an s-shaped pool of standing water to the left of the grass. Shilesh Link to comment

kurney 0 Posted September 28, 2004 I like the mood of this shot, the long exposure gives it a surreal feel. Link to comment
simanta 0 Posted January 17, 2005 Shilesh, to me, this is the best photo in your portfolio, I have never done a long shot with moving clouds.. but I am sure it's not easy. Your black and white shots are masterpiece..the moving clouds on the top creates an excellent contrast to the detailed foreground, I saw this picture as large... and I have no words to explain how much I like this...perfection Link to comment
