This man had tried to Rob a eldery woman on the street here in phoenix. She pulled a steak knife out of her purse and stabbed him in the shoulder. Here he is handcuffed on the street waiting for a ambulance.No charges were filed on the woman.

One of the best photos I have seen on this site, I love it for it's honesty, what a paradox. Sad that Granny is so angry these days, and sad that the guy is so dumb, like the other poster said, survival of the fittest. I like the blue tint, makes a hard edge to the shot. Great shot.

I agree with all of the comments above. His sadness and vulnerability invites enquiry into why he was so desperate. The story behind it invokes a lot of sympathy for the old woman. The textures in the shot are great too - rough textures for a rough subject.

It's a great story. I'm glad to know Granny wasn't charged. I heard something crazy here. A retired judge's wife volunteers at the place I work. She said that if someone breaks into your home (in our state) and you shoot the intruder, you can be sued by the intruder. It has happened and the rascal won the case. She said, "shoot to kill". Yikes. Shooting scares me, but isn't that crazy?
