Erik Lundh 0 Posted September 22, 2004 This is a falls at the base of Starvation Creek. It is named Starvation creek because of a incident that happened in the early 1900's. A train was passing through the Columbia gorge and got stuck in a huge snowstorm at this creek and falls for around 30 days. People were starving and fighting for every bit of food and warmth they could get. They finally got rescued and nobody died. There were drifts over 15 feet high blocking the train tracks with temps close to zero. Link to comment
d2f 0 Posted September 22, 2004 a bit overexposed and lacks originally and content, cropping is OK Link to comment
spike 0 Posted September 22, 2004 I disagree, it may be another waterfall shot but the three seperate streams really stand out for me, they are quite dramatic imho. Overall composition is perhaps disrupted with the two very different halves- top and bottom, but I really like this shot. thanks Link to comment
michael_hansen3 0 Posted September 23, 2004 I think the diagonal upper element contrasts nicely with the vertical lower half. The color saturation is good...the exposure allowed for optimal blurring in the water. Can you tell me how you create borders like this around your photos? Link to comment
