karen habbestad 0 Posted September 21, 2004 oh this is marvelous ;-) super imagination. don't you just love it when an idea comes together, or begins to flow? love the browns here. and the warped building faces, as a matter of perspective i would have wanted the dog a bit smaller, but that's just a thought of mine. beautiful tonality. marvelous ;-) Link to comment

ivan_scipiades 0 Posted December 28, 2004 Let me make two small remarks. 1) IMO the size of the man and the dog is not convincing. If they are to be giants in this strange town, they are too little. If they are to be "normal", they are a bit too big. 2) As there is a strong perspective distortion in the street, the dog also must be distorted so it match the surroundings. If you wanted to create an illusion of reality (you did by painting drop shadows) then the perspective distortion also must be taken into consideration. Otherwise I enjoy this picture and your whole portfolio. Keep up the work. IvanMnie kazhetsya shto chelovek i sobaka niemnogo veliki, jesli oni dolzhny byt "normalnymi". A jesli oni dolzhny byt velikanami, to oni niemnogo malenkije. Na tele sobaki toze dolzhna byt sobludena perspektiva (iskazhenie) - jesli ty chochesh stvorit iluziyu realnosti (a ty chotel, ved narisoval ten). Nadejus shto ty nie obizhayeshsya za eto zamechanie. Mnie tvoji foto ochen nravyatsya. Pozdravlyayu. Ivan Link to comment
mmene 0 Posted December 20, 2006 My dear friend your creation is art. Do not care about provocative questions like "this is more a paint than a photo", "how many hours ?" etc. "Art means that you create with everything you may use". This is not mine. Some likes it some other not. That's all. Go on. Michael. Link to comment
steppenwolf 0 Posted January 22, 2007 This reminds me of Rene Magritte too :-). But I agree that this is closer to a painting (where you add colors, layers etc to create the image) as opposed to photography (where you take out objects out of a real scene, by cropping, exposure etc) to present your view of that scene. Both probably have their limits, scope and rules (if only for the sake of classification of artform) for creativity. I am not commenting on that. Just that this sort of an image (though very creative and artistic) should be in a "digital art" forum rather than a photography forum. But in photo.net the boundaries have been completely blurred. Rather than condemn this good piece work, maybe a better idea would be to change the name of the forum to digital art.net :-). Link to comment
steve_frazier 0 Posted April 2, 2008 Like most of you, I have to agree that this is a very nice piece of art but can't see much photography here. It would be a stunning painting and if it were I'd love to have it. Link to comment
daved1 1 Posted April 2, 2008 Call it what you will. Catagorize it as you see fit. To me it works. It is an original, profound piece of Art in my view.Dave Link to comment
