Golden Orb Spider

Do you still get a feeling a size with this crop? This spider is

quite big but completely harmless to humans which made it easier on

my nerves to shoot.

Maybe with less reflex on the background it look a little better.

Are you suggesting the reflection of the flash on the background? I think I see what you mean. This type of spider has a golden web, hence the name, Golden Orb Spider. Unfortunately where this bugger was located (underneath my stairwell) light was very poor and my shots without the flash were much too dark. I think the reflection you are seeing is the flash reflecting off the golden web, which I'm not sure if I could have done anything about.

 

Does anyone have any suggestions for future?

This one is an eye-catcher. I like the way the legs both divide and hold together the space. The position entering the frame makes it more dynamic as well.
