elenanetea 0 Posted September 17, 2004 Oh, wow; definitely, a great image. Simple and strong, as usual. Link to comment
olov 0 Posted September 17, 2004 "Ploof", that's what I would name this lol Well it gives me.. le vertige ! The hand seems to be struggling not to fall in the dark ! I love the blurred background, unusual for landscapes but very adapted here imo. 2 things that sort of disturb me are the the hand could be sharper and the horizon is tipping.. But.. these 2 "mistakes" seem to go in your favor because more I look at it more I have this struggle impression. Good job ;) Link to comment
owen_omeara 1 Posted September 18, 2004 This is a beauty, as are all of the last three. If you can believe it, I even like the color. 6/7 -Owen Link to comment

mondiani 0 Posted September 20, 2004 Comme la ligne d'horizon m'ennuyait je l'ai redressee... je ne pense pas que cela ameliore ton image. Quoiqu'il en soit la voici Link to comment
gudermane 0 Posted September 20, 2004 Thanks a lot for all your comments. I agree about the soft focus, I consider it to be one of my biggest problems. Mondiany, thank you very much for doing this for me;)...I still hesitate what I like more. The straight horizont is more pleasant for human eye, it gives some balance, but the declining horizont gives (at least for me) an impression of movement, making the lines 'play' with each other and making a closed circle: the river- the hand- the rail - the horizont... everything interconnected. But is it really important? I don't know. I am not sure:))... Link to comment
dumpster001 1 Posted September 20, 2004 the tilt is crucial, and so is the focus. i felt it was obvious and didn't even mention it. if the tilt and the focus create discomfort, so be it. and isn't that what the pic here is a lot about? the discomfort... the precariousness of it all... auke bonne van der weide 0 Posted September 21, 2004 do these russian movies have a link to your photography in regards to landscape and suspense like this splendid photo, which not only has to do with the image-language but also with the colour of the light b.t.w. I thought that the suspense thriller "the Ring" would suit you. Just a thought. Link to comment
