I like this image, a young man heading into the unknown, but his mind on other things. The expression is perfect and the lighting even better.

I don't wish to make it sound like a critism as I could never produce such a powerful image, but I find the gentleman in civilian clothing a distracting background, a fellow soldier would add a sense of urgency to the photo.

I wonder whether there should be a little more detail in the white of the hat...a little burning in should do it.

the picture was taken in a railwaystation not in a studio, unfortunately i couldn t choose any backround, that s life..

I actually think ght background works. It's like he's walking into the darkness. Plus it adds definition to his face and hat. I would just crop out the right side a bit to take him off center.

Picture detail is look good for me but it is a bit tide composition. His face expression is great. Boonwed
