I may be wrong but you use too mush sharpening tool. A bit less and it would be perfect.

very nice image. The white fringe is maybe a bit disturbing. Is it due to oversharpening? If so (and if you use PS), you could avoid it (duplicate your layer, apply the sharpening to the above layer, and set the fusion mode to darken).

I don't do it that way either :p

I sharpen just a bit when I downsize a picture this way: duplicate the layer, then use unsharp mask amount 50%, radius 2 treshold 2, then if this is too sharp as yours I change the layer opacity, if not I unsharp again.
