Congratulation Bruce! Bruce Tunny enroute to winning the 3 Hour Figure 8 World Championship at the Indianapolis Speedrome 9/11/04

Bruce Tunny announced his retirement from driving race cars after

winning last Saturdays 28th Annual 3 Hour World Championship Figure

8 Race at the Indianapolis Speedrome. We'll miss Bruce on the track,

but look forward to seeing his son Mark take over. This shot was

iaken as Bruce led the race, on one of his 486 laps. Bruce

succesfully made it through the crossover 972 times. The damage to

the car came in a corner, not the crossover though.

I guess the best explanation is to imagine going up to 90mph and running a red light every 10 seconds for three hours without crashing. It's all in the timing, sometimes you misjudge it though. The driver in this photo made 486 laps and went through the crossover 972 times, and went home $10,000 richer.
