If this is a mistake then keep making them. This is an excellent photo in my view. The non existent background draws attention to the flower as it should. The stem, petals and branches are well defined and it's simple but effective. I like it.

Nice rendering, but the sharpening in 5 is sometimes less drammatic than it should be. Either

try Selenium toning on another print or go into curves and pull down the lower third in a concave between the midpoint and then the upper third in a

convex so, it looks like an S. Then, tell me what you think. If I ever printed it, it would be on Agfa RC Multigrade Matte. Also, try without doing anything else go into Saturate and move the slider

to the right and look at the effect. You have to be in RGB mode.

Nice work.

This image was kind of made by mistake. I was printing photos and

wanted to do one for my mom. I didn't feel like doing test strip, so I

guess on the exposure time. The negative looks darker. Then I wanted

to put it on the web like the print. I took it to photoshop cropped,

and brightened it. I'm a beginner (I'm 15)and think I made a mistake

that worked out. What do you think ?

This looks just great.

A lot of Australian flowers have that sort of shape and I spend quite a bit of time trying to get a decent shot. I found none of my photos worth putting on the net yet.

It's a great idea to do this in b&w. I also like the square cropping. I had to check if you used a medium format camera, and was pleasantly surprised to find a fellow Minolta manual focus user.

Second what the others said on the missing background and would love to see if you can even further improve the image in Photoshop.

Keep on experimenting!
