erin.e 0 Posted December 17, 2004 The usual pack of inaccurate and self seeking praisers uttering their inane bullshit in the multitude of useless overpraise for this common portrait style. The image shows that you have the ability to relate to your portrait subjects and draw pleasant aspects of their character to the fore. Also that you have a good eye for contrast, so that your digital file converts to a good contrasty black and white in this difficult to balance black and white image. Your technical skills are good, but with the proviso that it is not difficult to get good images with a modern DSLR in complimentary lighting. I do not mean to diminish the nice enough portrait, but to inject a bit of reality into the ridiculous antics of your mate rating circle. I do not increase the number of ratings for people that belong to such groups and if I were to rate this image it would be a 5+4 Link to comment
andresborbon 0 Posted December 19, 2004 Excelente retrato, Juan Fernando. I do not agree with the previous critique, but it is probably a matter of taste and point of view. This portrait is amazing from every point of view. The smiling eyes are wonderful! Gracias por compartir este maravilloso trabajo. Link to comment
Link to comment
acearle 1 Posted January 8, 2005 Regarding a comment above, I think that some people, in their tireless quest for the new, forget that before you can explore new areas in the arts, you need to have a foundation in the basics (something which I lack, and work on constantly). Maybe what she sould have seen in this picture is that in one's quest for the new, one must remember the old... Link to comment
mg 0 Posted July 18, 2005 It seems a tad overshappened and a tad too dark on her darkest eye perhaps, but otherwise, this really is a wonderful image. I hope to see a corrected version. Superb expression. Regards. Link to comment
