Candlelit study

It works. I want to step into the shot, read the book, sip the brandy, go by the window, open it and lit a cigar - I don't smoke. Good ambience. I thing the compostion is too filled though. The stuff n the wall is not really needed and the books should not be cropped. Take everything else away but the table, the open book, the candle, the brandy and the elephants. Simple is beautifull. But it sure can' tbe bad this way either as it made me react so clearly.

I think you took it in day time, I see light from front... nice photograph, I also had experimented at complete darkness and I got a blue dot on subject forhead. Well done try to make same subject in complete darkness...

i really like the shot. i think you've arranged it well. the only little thing that I guess could be better is not to have a second source of light here. maybe you didnt use a second light, but I see that reflection in the glass, the ink bottle and even shine off the porcelain elephants. a golden reflector from the front/top would have been better.
