This is one shot from my first evening....or rather morning... of aurora shooting during the

winter of 2004. The aurora looks almost like a ray coming from the distant mountain.

Seeing three light sources that complimented each other with a patch of formed negative

space was wonderful. Interestingly the moon was 1/2 full, but appears round due to the

long exposure. Very soon this highway will be snow covered and this image will be

impossible to duplicate. These early morning aurora images involved some 40 sleepless

hours and 440 miles of driving so I hope you enjoy them !

Great Picture Santa. The moonlight reflecting on the road surface compliments the lights of the Aurora in the sky. Just awesome. My first impression when I saw this photo was of a digitally altered science fiction photo. But you have done a fabulous job with a natural phenomenon.

This is such a great nightime image. So still. I love the green light and also how there isn't a car on the road. It make the road feel super long. Good job on this capture.

The green light trail is definitely brilliantly captured... Can even be interpreted as the remains of a passing meteor...

Moon shine over the road is interestingly welcome... much like said in the previous comments, it gives the tarmac a long cold neverending feel of night-time stretch...

Well done mate

The 3D effect this has on my screen is awesome - in fact the overall capture is magnificent - and I was drawn right in and captured by it myself! For me, it has the distinct feeling of taking right off from here straight into the universe!! Thank you v. much for taking it and sharing :)
