Half Dome at Sunset

Beautifully done Jay. I've been there and seen a lot of shots of Half Dome, none of which are as interesting as this one. Congratulations.

Well done. I have tried a very similar shot but the forground can never turn out satisfactory. With the canoe in the foreground, this is a truely masterful picture.

Excellent photo. Also, I wouldn't object to being in the canoe (I love canoeing). I wonder if anyone has noticed the bear standing under the second right tree from the middle. Cool. 7 out of 7 points.

Certainly I appreciate the nice exposure of half dome and I always appreciate a polarizing filter for rock against sky. The metering comes at the expense, however, of the underexposure of much other subject matter in the image, ie. the canoe, water, and all greenery.

This is a superb photograph, Jay. The backdrop to the canoists gliding in on the reflected light of Half Dome is terrific.
