WJT 634 Posted September 9, 2004 My compliments, Lou Ann, on your new perspective endeavors. I have yet to explore this myself. The correction certainly does improve the overall look of the scene; makes it more professional. I can see the problem area along the right that you referred to. But that only needs a little more time and patience to fix. I agree with the comment about the contrast level; it does seem pretty high. On the other hand, one must consider the time of day that this was shot and the lighting. This is one of the reasons I like to use print film, with its wider latitude, for some of my landscapes. Overall, I think this is a Good photograph! Regards. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted September 9, 2004 Lou Ann , here is my attempt at straightening up your nice shot. I used Image > Transform > Distort and just used my eye to judge when it looked right. I may not have got the vertical scale right but with a bit more tweaking...I've left a black background to show how the image has been stretched. Wilson's try is good too but imo the height of the buildings is too low and his version needs to be stretched upwards a bit to make it look right. Nice shot btw! Link to comment

colin carron 58,916 Posted September 9, 2004 Can't you persuade your art department to get themselves a nice view camera setup to teach the basics of photography? :-) Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted September 9, 2004 Hahahaha!! It's not up to our art department ... unfortunately the fine arts (including music, drama, etc.) are not as well supported in our district as the "core" subjects ... due to standardized testing. (Don't get me going!!) We're lucky that we have a couple of "good" SLR's for our yearbook staff to use ... we are a middle school ... most of our kids are 11 through 14 years old. It'll never happen..... Link to comment
jos www.inpix.biz 0 Posted September 10, 2004 Good work Lou Ann! Getting further back with a bigger lense or using PS...I have been using PS too, and I also use the 'skew' in edit transform. Link to comment
