calee allen 0 Posted September 7, 2004 Taken in Scott's Hut, Antarctica, where the supplies are preserved by the cold. Window light. Link to comment
gazzah 0 Posted September 16, 2004 I've always been fascinated by the polar explorers after reading Admiral Byrd's "Alone". This photo brings back the memories of that book and the author's hardships and brush with death. Eerie to think Scott's supplies are still there in his hut after all this time. And a beautiful photo too. I think the lighting is very evocative, composition just right. Wonderful. Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted September 22, 2004 Are those the supplies which were just a few days away from them, on the way back, when they did not make it any further? An impressive place and shot. From the picture point of view, did you consider some more contrast? The picture could benefit from it. Link to comment
calee allen 0 Posted September 22, 2004 This was a base camp on the coast of Antarctica on the Ross Ice Shelf. It's just a quarter mile from the National Science Foundation station. I think you're right about the contrast. Link to comment
