evan_noble 0 Posted September 7, 2004 Very original and well done. Somehow the camera looks crooked, but that may just be an optical illusion. The 'aura' around the bright edges of the mannequin are a bit disconcerting (I suppose it is standard of entry level digital cameras - chromatic aberration or something like that?) Link to comment
derek_prinsloo 0 Posted September 9, 2004 My beautiful wife just bought me one of these figures after I was ranting and raving about how cool Dave N's work was. So this is the first submission in what will hopefully be a fruitful and creative series of pictures ... or maybe just a lot of fun :) Link to comment
arjen van de merwe 0 Posted September 9, 2004 Good idea. The photo is a bit light and low contrast for my taste. With shiny subjects, soft lighting is usually the way to go. This gives better hgighlights (especially when the light sources are rectangular, and less flare. Link to comment
dave_nitsche 0 Posted September 9, 2004 LOL, very nice image. Exposure is a bit hot but still a good laugh. I love those little guys... Link to comment
derek_prinsloo 0 Posted September 10, 2004 Evan - the 'aura' you're refering to is likely compression artifacts - but might be a factor of the camera too. Arjen - thanks for the suggestions. This was a spur of the moment photo as I had just received the mannequin and was thinking of fun things to do with him. This shot was taken in the bathroom mirror (hence the harsh lighting) and flipped so that the words are legible. In my future experiments I will take much more care in how I light him and hopefully avoid blowing out the highlights. Dave - thanks for taking the time to comment. I'm glad I could provide you a chuckle. Link to comment
