Very good, but I would have moved the view to the left a little, the rocks at the far left go on past the end of the photo, they drall the eye to the far left by the line it creates and there's nothing their.

But still nice photo, and keep working on it.

Ok - teach me ...

If I was here with my camera on a tripod - I would probably shoot this scene and another version with more forground. Did you shoot this scene more than one way ? Or did you just shoot out the window of a moving car like you usually do ? ............ What are you using for a light meter and do you bracket your shots ?

were you wearing a jacket? if so what color? Exactly how were you standing when you took this? did you run your fingers along the rocks?

Micah I did take the original photo more to the left and then cropped it because the mountains were to far to the right. Oh well you can't have every thing.

Ken I only shot it one way at (35 MPH) then cropped it, Ah it's nice to have this much film to cut on.

Lol @ Knicki .........

I have the 508 too - are you using the reflective or incident meter ? - and averaging ? - and what color jacket ?

Thanks for showing the original tranny - I am impressed - looks like I could have as much foreground as I wanted ... !

Phillip I would never be able to get this from a moving car either, I may have gotten a little side tracked on that one.

Ken I use the reflective or spot meter part mostly on the L508 and I was wearing a light brown jacket.

Great job of capturing this landscape without the usual "haze" that collects along the Colorado River. I've been to the La Sal overlook at Arches probably 5 or 6 times, 20 degrees to 95 degrees, and there's always haze present. Testimony that all the right equipment and skills are fairly worthless if you don't have a knack for being in the right place at the right time.
