ariel_lopez 0 Posted September 3, 2002 This is a photo that all my non-photographer friends really like, but I haven't recieved any feed-back from people who know about photography. I don't have anything specific I want comments on, just generally what do you think? Link to comment
tonys 0 Posted September 4, 2002 Your attempt to flatter the critic failed in my case :-). If I were so knowledgeable in photography, I wouldn't be here in the first place. Now back to your shot. It's an original idea, to sandwich the two slides and the result is esthetically good. I especially like the illusion of the fairy's eye looking at the butterfly. The butterfly however, is too dark and poorly focused and looks like an ugly birthmark on the young face. The tree bark texture is a good choice in my opinion. I'd suggest looking for another butterfly shot and repeat the sandwich. Link to comment
brian l. schiele 0 Posted September 4, 2002 I agree, I think that the butterfly dominates the face. It would have been good to see both eyes. Link to comment
rsminton 0 Posted September 6, 2002 I like the muted colors here, but I have to agree with the comments about the butterfly. Crisper focus would be better, but I might like the photo more without it - it's hard to say. Perhaps if the butterfly were moved more to the top right of the frame - showing more of the girl's face and covering that bright spot up there. Link to comment
brad 0 Posted September 12, 2002 Reminds me of Silence of the Lambs. I like this a lot and don't agree about the size and placement of the butterfly. And the bark (is that what it is) has a very nice effect on her face. Very apt title too. Great image. Link to comment
caltha 0 Posted July 21, 2003 Great sandwich effect and great placement of the butterfly. I don't like the bright corner though, it steals to much attention from the face. Link to comment
