LenMarriott 9 Posted September 1, 2004 Dustin, An excellent composition with great highlight detail. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the dark areas (can't really refer to them as shadow areas) I suspect a bit of underexposure or perhaps just a poor scan. Probably correctable in PS as there is SOME detail in there. The small spruce (?) outlined against the bright area near the top of the falls really elevates this shot. Good decision to include only a small amount of sky area. A keeper in any case. Best, LM. Link to comment
dustinbise 0 Posted September 1, 2004 How would i go about bringing out detail in the dark areas without changing the exposer on the rest of the shot? Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted September 2, 2004 Dustin, If you are familiar with PS you can go to Image>adjustments>curves and selectively lighten or darken selected areas. My down-and-dirty adjustment is an example. I'm sure, if one played with the settings enough one could get an optimum balance between highlights and dark areas. Best, LM. Link to comment
