dipankar 0 Posted August 27, 2004 I took this picture in a village in rural India. I like the way the mossy stairs were highlighted by the sunrays. There is a typical indian broom stick on the right and an old tin bucket above it. This place is pretty much abandoned. Does the picture convey the same feeling? Link to comment
dave_nitsche 0 Posted August 27, 2004 Nice image, but with the back wall had more going on. Would love to see more of the broom and stops. Love the blue/green feel between the two... Dave Link to comment
ajoy prabhu 0 Posted August 31, 2004 Dipankar, The image resonates beautiful with me. Can imagine being in my parents native village! Just my take on the composition is that even with what you have, there is a lot and (Dave is right) the wall is indeed not adding anything to it. I'd crop it like so (attached) and try and open the shadows a bit. Just my 4-anna! :) Ajoy Link to comment
dipankar 0 Posted August 31, 2004 Thanks for the thoughtful comments Ajoy. I looked at your crop. However I also wanted to catch the bucket along with the broom in this pic. Thanks once again. Link to comment
ajoy prabhu 0 Posted September 1, 2004 My perspective: I am a minimalist. I try and convey simple ideas that viewers can grab rightaway. That is not necessarily the RIGHT way to do it, but one that I find most attractive. Do take a look at the tips I have published at my site: http://www.ajoyprabhu.com/album/photo-tips.html :) Ajoy Link to comment
